Meet your driver-guide at Casablanca airport and drive to the capital. Hassan Tower and the Kasbah of the Udayas before checking into your riad. Overnight: Rabat.
North through cork forests and the Rif Mountains to the blue-washed town of Chefchaouen. Overnight: Chefchaouen.
A full day in the blue lanes, with a walk up to the Spanish Mosque for sunset over the rooftops. Overnight: Chefchaouen.
Roman Volubilis and its mosaics, holy Moulay Idriss and imperial Meknes en route to Fes. Overnight: Fes.
A full day in Fes el-Bali — tanneries, madrasas, souks, artisan workshops and the world’s oldest university. Overnight: Fes.
Across the Middle Atlas cedar forests, past the Barbary macaques of Azrou and down the Ziz Valley to the dunes. Camel trek at sunset. Overnight: Desert camp.
A second Saharan day — nomad families, fossil beds, Khamlia Gnawa music and a 4×4 run across the ergs. Overnight: Desert camp.
West through Rissani’s markets to the cliffs of Todra Gorge and the dramatic Dades hairpins. Overnight: Dades.
The Valley of Roses and Skoura’s palm oasis, Ouarzazate’s film studios and the great kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou at golden hour. Overnight: Aït Ben Haddou.
Over the Tizi n’Tichka pass, stopping in Berber villages, and down into the red city. Overnight: Marrakech.
Koutoubia, the Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace and the souks, ending at Jemaa el-Fnaa as the food stalls light up. Overnight: Marrakech.
West through argan groves to the Atlantic. Ramparts, the fishing port and fresh seafood. Overnight: Essaouira.
A slow morning by the sea, then up the coast to Casablanca and the Hassan II Mosque. Overnight: Casablanca.
