Tour overview

At 110 metres, Ouzoud is the tallest waterfall in North Africa — a triple cascade thundering into a green gorge, with rainbows in the spray and wild Barbary macaques in the olive groves above.

The drive from Marrakech takes around two and a half hours across the Middle Atlas plateau. You’ll walk down through the olive terraces to the pools at the base, take a small boat right up to the spray, and have lunch on a terrace overlooking the falls before heading back.

Your day, stop by stop

We collect you around 8am and drive northeast across the Haouz plain and up onto the Middle Atlas plateau — about two and a half hours, with a coffee stop en route.

Arrive late morning at the top of the gorge, where the first views open out over the full drop of the falls and the valley beyond.

A gentle guided descent on shaded paths through olive terraces and old mills, with plenty of photo stops. Keep an eye out for the Barbary macaques — they’re wild, curious and used to visitors.

At the bottom, a small wooden boat takes you right up to the foot of the cascades — close enough to feel the spray and catch the rainbows.

A relaxed tagine on one of the terraces overlooking the water, with the roar of the falls as a soundtrack.

Climb back up at your own pace, then depart around 4pm, arriving back at your riad by around 6:30pm.

The monkeys were a total delight and the falls are genuinely spectacular. Lunch above the water was a lovely touch.

A proper escape from the city heat. Green, cool and beautiful — and the boat right up to the spray was great fun.
