Complete itinerary
Meet your driver-guide at Casablanca airport and drive to the capital, Rabat. Visit the Hassan Tower and Kasbah of the Udayas before checking into your riad. Overnight: Rabat.
Head north to the blue-washed mountain town of Chefchaouen. Spend the afternoon wandering its cobalt lanes and hillside viewpoints. Overnight: Chefchaouen.
Drive to Fes, stopping at the Roman ruins of Volubilis and holy Moulay Idriss en route. Overnight: Fes.
A full day exploring the labyrinth of Fes el-Bali with a local expert — tanneries, madrasas, artisan workshops and the world’s oldest university. Overnight: Fes.
Cross the Middle Atlas cedar forests and the Ziz Valley to the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Ride camels to a luxury desert camp for dinner under the stars. Overnight: desert camp.
Sunrise over the dunes, then west along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to the dramatic Dades Gorge. Overnight: Dades.
Through the Ouarzazate film country to the UNESCO kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, then over the Tizi n’Tichka pass to Marrakech. Overnight: Marrakech.
